Booking Booking Form -Bands/Agents fill this form out Booking Tips -Please read Main Street Cafe is an awesome 5,000 sq. ft. all-age venue located in midtown Kansas City, MO. Our venue is an old ice house converted to a venue/4 bedroom apartment w/shower, cafe, thrift shop & actual bedrooms! (See pics on our myspace) We offer great shows (see archives list) We serve a home cooked meal before shows for touring bands and breakfast is available if desired. We are here to serve you as we know the road can be exhausting and we want you to leave here refreshed. As for music we do all styles, but request that lyrics be clean and positive. (singing about struggles is ok, but we aren't a place to vent, and would prefer that your music offers hope to our young people.) We mentor young adults we meet at the venue helping them with life struggles, questions of faith, issues such as addictions, suicidal tendencies, and would like to know your lyrics would help our kids not increase their struggles. And, though we love to meet new bands our capacity to book is limited. We are a nonprofit and operate by admissions at the door and need to know we will have enough door funds to pay bills. None of our staff is paid including our sound techs. All is volunteer which keeps costs down but we still have expenses to operate so need to know your band will draw to the show. We try to add one new band to each show, but requests to play are much greater than we can accomodate at the moment. Also, please always include contact info at the bottom of each email otherwise we can't keep track of emails and response is delayed. Promotion is very important to make a show happen. Let us know what you can do to promote. Put us on your myspace top list. Myspace KC kids before you come. And please be patient with us in booking. It sometimes takes a year before we can get something worked out with scheduling. Please come visit us and support others shows too if you are local. Local bands who come to other shows will get preference in booking! We have to make this work all year or there won't be individual shows.
